EKLESSIA of The First-Born Church was conceived as a vision in the year 1998 in Gombe Nigeria, after a few weeks of prayers and meditation; with a conviction to create a spiritual home for believers dedicated to living out the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus spoke by his spirit to Reverend James Alkali to “RAISE AN ARMY OF KINGDOM MINDED PEOPLE that will spread the message of the FINISHED WORKS OF CHRIST through to the ends of the earth, so as to bring people to a place of total victory and unrestrained fellowship with God. The vision took off as an interdenominational fellowship, with programs and worship meetings for a period of 3–4 years before the church kicked off. The vision became an active church body in the month of march 2003 in the city of Maiduguri Nigeria. Since then, the vision has been thriving towards it’s goal, with a network of cell groups and fellowships all over Nigeria today. The name “Eklessia,” meaning “gathering” or “assembly,” reflects the church’s mission to unite followers of Christ, encouraging them to embrace their identity as the BRIDE OF CHRIST called to walk in the fulness of faith. Since its inception, Eklessia of the Firstborn has grown into a thriving community known for its spirit-led worship, dynamic faith teachings, and outreach programs that impact lives both locally and globally; With a focus on nurturing discipleship and empowering believers to influence society, the church remains committed to spreading the gospel and being a source of hope and transformation for all who seek a deeper relationship with God.
